We’re constantly improving our detection system — expanding to more languages, supporting more file formats, and refining our accuracy as new AI models are released.
Students, researchers, universities, and businesses use our tool to ensure originality, meet academic standards, and avoid unintentional AI misuse
Not necessarily. If AI text is heavily edited or rewritten, it may look more human. Our detection still highlights sections that show strong AI patterns so you can decide how to proceed.
Yes. Even if AI-generated text is manipulated with synonyms or spelling tricks, our tool can often still recognize the underlying patterns.
No. Tools that simply correct grammar or spelling won’t be marked as AI-generated. Our system is designed to distinguish between writing assistants and AI content creators.
Currently, we support text files, Word, and PDFs. Scanning AI within images, video subtitles, or handwriting is in development.
Yes. We can analyze source code to determine if it appears human-written or generated by AI coding assistants.
Rarely, genuine writing may be flagged. This usually happens with overly formal, repetitive, or uniform text styles. You can revise flagged areas, diversify sentence structures, and add personal examples to strengthen originality.
Yes. Our system is built to be model-agnostic. Instead of chasing one tool at a time, we focus on underlying generative writing patterns. This means we’ll continue adapting to new AI systems as they appear.
Our detector requires a minimum length to analyze text patterns effectively, and extremely long texts can lower confidence. Word count limits help us maintain accurate results.
Absolutely. Your documents remain private and secure. We comply with GDPR and follow strict data protection standards. You can also request permanent deletion of your files at any time.
Similarity Score → shows how much of your text matches published sources or other papers.
AI Detection Score → shows how much of your text was likely generated by AI.
They are separate but complementary measures.
No. Your plagiarism report still works the same way. AI detection simply adds another layer of insight so you can see originality and AI probability side by side.
Yes. Many students use AI only for parts of their assignments. Our tool can identify hybrid documents, showing which parts appear human-written and which parts likely came from AI.
If AI-generated sections are detected, your report will show:
A percentage of text likely created by AI
Highlighted sections for review
Suggestions on which parts may need rewriting
We’ve designed our detection system to keep false flags to a minimum. Less than 2% of human-written text is mistakenly identified as AI. Our priority is precision, so genuine work isn’t unfairly marked.
Yes. We currently support AI detection in more than 30 languages including English, Spanish, French, German, Chinese, Russian, Japanese, and Portuguese. Accuracy may vary slightly between languages, but detection remains highly reliable.
Our detector can identify text created by popular AI models such as ChatGPT, GPT-4, Claude, Gemini, Llama, Jasper, and other leading writing tools. For English, our detection accuracy is consistently above 98%.
We trained our model on massive collections of both human-written and AI-generated text from academic papers, online sources, and research datasets. This long-term training allows the system to recognize even small differences between authentic student writing and AI output.
Our system analyzes writing style, sentence rhythm, vocabulary choices, and statistical markers that typically differ between humans and AI. By examining these subtle signals, we can highlight sections that are likely machine-generated.
No. By default, your documents remain private and are deleted after scanning. If you choose, you can opt to save files in a secure institutional repository for future comparisons.
Yes. You can filter out bibliographies, citations, and templates so they aren’t flagged as plagiarism, making your report more accurate and fair.
We offer pay-per-document scanning and student-friendly packages for multiple assignments. Pricing depends on the document length.
Omitted words are the sections you chose not to include (quotes, references, etc.). These aren’t counted in the numerator or denominator for matched text calculations, so they don’t skew your similarity score.
Your report gives an overall similarity percentage and divides matched text into: Exact Matches, Small Edits, and Paraphrased passages. You can use filters to show only those levels you care about (for example, hide small edits or only show paraphrased content).
We check for three main levels of similarity: Exact Matches (word-for-word), Small Edits (minor rewording or spelling differences), and Paraphrased Content (ideas preserved but with new wording). We also show any portions of your text you chose to omit from scanning (e.g. quotes, bibliography) based on your settings.
Pricing depends on document length. We offer flexible student-friendly packages, from single checks to bulk packages for multiple assignments.
Most reports are generated within minutes. For larger files (like dissertations), it may take slightly longer, but you’ll still get results quickly.
The similarity percentage shows how much of your text overlaps with existing sources. Matches are grouped into categories:
Identical – exact copies
Minor Changes – lightly edited text
Paraphrased – same meaning, different words
This helps you know what needs citation or rewriting.
Yes. You can adjust filters in your report to exclude references, citations, or templates. This ensures only meaningful overlaps are flagged as plagiarism.
While our system is highly accurate, limitations include:
Rare cases in less-common languages
Handwritten or image-based text without OCR conversion
Extremely short or overly long submissions affecting accuracy
Yes. Our system goes beyond word-for-word matches, detecting paraphrased plagiarism and spun content designed to avoid detection.
Our database is constantly updated, ensuring your work is checked against the latest online sources, journals, and previously submitted student assignments.
Yes. We prioritize data privacy and security. Your documents are not shared or reused, and they can be permanently deleted upon request. We comply with GDPR and international data standards.
Results are displayed in a Similarity Report showing:
Overall similarity percentage
Color-coded categories (Identical, Minor Changes, Paraphrased)
Highlighted sections with matching sources
You can also download a PDF report for record-keeping or submission.
Your work is compared with:
Billions of web pages and online sources
Academic journals and research publications
Student papers stored in secure databases
This ensures a comprehensive plagiarism scan beyond just Google results.
We support common academic file types: Word (.doc/.docx), PDF, PowerPoint, plain text, and code files. Essays, dissertations, reports, and programming assignments can all be scanned.
Yes. Our tool can scan source code and identify both exact matches and modified code, making it valuable for computer science, engineering, and IT students.
Skyline Academic checks documents in 100+ languages, including English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Chinese, Arabic, Russian, and more. This makes it effective for international students and multilingual research.
We can detect:
Direct Copying – word-for-word matches
Paraphrased Text – ideas rewritten without proper credit
Spun Content – text modified with synonyms or slight changes
Code Plagiarism – copied or slightly altered source code
Image-to-Text Plagiarism – scanned or image-based text comparisons
Our plagiarism detection system is highly accurate, capable of spotting both direct copying and more subtle issues like paraphrased text. While no tool is 100% perfect, Skyline Academic consistently delivers the level of precision trusted by universities and professional institutions.
Skyline Academic provides a plagiarism checker that scans your work against billions of online sources, published research, and student papers. It highlights similarities, shows where referencing is needed, and produces a clear originality report to support academic integrity.
